Casco Township Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals hears requests for variances from the Zoning Ordinance. Occasionally, a property owner may face hardship in complying with the Zoning Ordinance. In that case, a request for a variance may be scheduled by the Zoning Administrator, Alfred Ellingsen, for further consideration by the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Zoning Board of Appeals generally meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Casco Township Hall, 7104 107th Avenue at the corner of 71st Street. All meetings are open to the public. For a schedule of upcoming meetings, click here. (Coming Soon) Variance requests to be considered by the Zoning Board of Appeals are published in the South Haven Tribune. Agendas for upcoming ZBA meetings are available at the Township Hall approximately one week prior to the scheduled meeting.

The Zoning Ordinance (approved 11/2006) may be reviewed online. The Zoning Ordinance outlines all the rules for construction and land use within various zones of Casco Township. The current Zoning Ordinance (approved in November, 2006) can be purchased from the Township Hall for $15, ($20 to have it mailed).
